Michael J. Sullivan, Medical Doctor, F.A.C.P.
Michael J. Sullivan, M.D. was born and raised in New Jersey. He graduated cum laude from Harvard College receiving his Bachelor of Arts and attended medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He then proceeded to Duke University where he completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine, and a two year Fellowship in Gastroenterology. Upon completion of his fellowship in 1984, he moved to Kingsport TN where he has since provided gastroenterology care to the Tri Cities community for over 25 years. In 1992, he received the Key to the City (Kingsport) for his Outstanding Leadership and Dedication to Medicine.
Dr. Sullivan is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialties of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Over the years, he has served as an appointed Clinical Professor with East Tennessee State University and Preceptor for Norton Community Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program. He was elected to Fellowship in the American College of Physicians in 2009, and has served as a longtime member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Gastroenterological Association.
